The archipelago of Galapagos is located in the equatorial line, being one of the two archipelagos of the world, located in both hemispheres. It is the cradle of an uncountable endemic fauna, which was part of the inspiration to Charles Darwin when setting his theory: the Origin of the Species. It is part of the World Heritage by UNESCO since 1978.
To get there, you should fly from Quito or Guayaquil. There is accommodation available in the main islands, but the most popular and convenient way to enjoy and discover the different species that inhabit the main islands and islets, is boarding one of the cruises that sale around them.
